The Fredricks Company (215-947-2500) makes a line of small tilt
sensors. The typical sensor is a small glass unit half-filled with
liquid. Sensing electrodes are in the liquid and extend through the
glass. 0.5" high, 0.3" diam, suitable for direct PC mount. No
electronics, just the sensor. Available in 1 or 2 axis. Usual angle
range +-30 degrees. +-70 degrees available for this model. +- 180
degrees available for other models. They have an 18-page catalog of other
tilt sensors. This seems to be the way to go.
