		Japanese Sentence Generation Tool

		     version cesp-0.3

 		         1992-06-01

1. Introduction

Japanese Sentence Generation Tool (JG) is based on the sentence
generation sub-system of LTB v2.1, which was released by ICOT and was
written on ESP and CIL.

JG has the following characteristics.
-- The intermediate expression is represented by
      PST(Partial Specified Term)
-- JG has almost same specifications compared with
      the generator of LTB v2.1

Thus, a manual for JG is not supported. The manual for the generator
of LTB v2.1 works well as a manual for JG. Please refer documents in
"$TOPDIR/doc".

2. Required Software

The following softwares are required.
  (1) CESP system (version 3.X)
  (2) Input and Output method for KANA-KANJI character

All source codes of JG are written on CESP. So The CESP system (above
version 3.0) is required to install and run JG. Also you are
recommended to have some knowledge about Japanese grammar to use JG.

Moreover you must have a software which can handle Kanji-Kana
characters, for instance Nemacs(Nihongo Emacs) and Kterm included in
the X-window system.

You can get "Nemacs" from the major ftp sites in Japan. Kterm is one
of the contribution software of X11R4 and X11R5.
