Although the City of Pittsburgh does not recycle newspapers, there is
one recycling center nearby that accepts newsprint. Atlas Waste
Paper is located on the South Side (S. 24th and Wharton, 431-5329)
and is open 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday. Unfortunately, they only
accept newsprint when they have an order to fill, so be sure to call
ahead. They also only accept black and white newspaper, so you need to
remove any glossy ads or colored newsprint. To get there, take a left
at the end of the Birmingham bridge, and another left at the next stop
light. They'll be on your left after the stop sign.
