PHONE BOOKS -- limited time offer

Until Friday, November 22, you can recycle your old phone book(s)
by leaving them at the appropriately marked area on the Wean 4th
floor loading dock. These books will be added to the phone
books that are being collected in the Morewood parking lot
on the weekend of November 23-24.

TONER CARTRIDGES -- no time limit

If your area uses a laser printer that is not maintained by CS facilities,
you can now recycle your cartridges by leaving them in the appropriately
marked box on the Wean 4th floor loading dock. If your printer is maintained
by CS Facilities, they are probably already recycling the cartridges, so
you should disregard this post.

TO CRUSH OR NOT TO CRUSH... (This is starting to sound like SCS-Today. :)

It's your choice. Here are the issues:

Pro: save space in collection bin
vent frustration by pretending can is somebody's head

Con: very messy if can not empty
sharp edges can puncture plastic bags
bodily injury in the process of crushing

TIP FOR RECYCLING PAPER

If you want to simplify the process of sorting "mixed" paper from
"high-quality" paper, nip the problem at the bud. Keep a box in your office
for high-quality paper only. You should have a blue wastebasket-type
container for mixed paper. Assuming you recycle paper a few sheets at a time,
it should not require a gargantuan effort to determine which stream to
put it in.
