Some German singers I have noticed have an annoying quirk of Latin
pronunciation, where /e/ > /i/.

I have a recording by von Karajan of the Mozart Requiem --- don't have it
handy, so I can't say who the soprano is --- who distinctly says,

"Ti dicit hymnus, Dius, in Sion; it tibi ridditur votum in Jerusalim."
