     Software Engineer (Beaverton, OR) Will design and develop software for 
     network troubleshooting expert systems as part of Network General's 
     next generation products.  Team member of an expert systems group 
     which is responsible for all aspects of developing one or more expert 
     system components, including inference engines, rule bases, and 
     support and interface code.  To provide traceable documentation and 
     unit tests for own code plus porting or adapting existing code to new 
     platforms and uses. BS/MS CS with 3-5 years' experience in the 
     computer industry, preferably with at least 1 year developing expert 
     systems and 1 year developing telecommunications software.  Design and 
     implementation experience is required in Lisp (Common Lisp preferred), 
     expert systems, network technology, and C or C++.  Familiarity with a 
     Windows development environment is desirable.  A track record of 
     delivering high quality products to market, the ability to partition 
     and prioritize completion of complex designs, the ability to work in a 
     cohesive, team-oriented environment, and excellent verbal and written 
     communication skills are required for success in this position.
