Explore this opportunity to join Jones Intercable, a progressive leader in the
communications TV industry, as a

                        Design Technician

This position is responsible for providing customers with a set of clear 
and accurate maps on or before the deadline and in a cost efficient 
manner, as well as providing on-site and local AutoCAD training to 
department and system associates. You will perform AutoCAD and manual 
drafting and must possess the ability to troubleshoot AutoCAD. Other duties
will include: project coordination/planning; monthly status/technical 
reports; implementation of Quality Control systems for department 
associates' work; and contractor and system mapping so that Jones' 
standards are adhered to. In addition, you will evaluate drafting 
software and conduct interviews for additional Drafters and Design
technicians as needed.

To qualify, you need a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably, 
an Associate degree in Drafting. In addition, the following experience is 
required: two years of AutoCAD including lisp routines; two years of 
Cable TV drafting; and one year of basic computer including DOS, Lotus 
and Word Your background must also include a basic electronics class, 
manual drafting class/experience and a college writing course or 
equivalent. The ability to motivate others and to meet department 
performance standards, as well as possessing proven interpersonal and 
customer service skills are essential to success in this position.
