Seismologist/Software Engineer. The Geophysics Systems Operation (GSO)
of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has an
immediate opening for a seismologist/software engineer to work on
problems of national interest in our office in Melbourne, Florida.

GSO is seeking a seismologist with a strong interest in Unix software
engineering to contribute to the development and integration of a
Prototype U.S. National Data Center to support verification of a
Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). Responsibilities will
include the development, testing, and maintenance of seismological
and graphics software. Applicants should have a seismology background
(or other geophysical science) and expertise in several of the
following areas: Unix, C, Fortran, Lisp, Sun Workstations, relational
database management systems, distributed processing, interactive
graphics and X-windows. Preference will be given to applicants with
strong programming and seismological experience. Candidates must have
a B.S. or M.S. plus job experience or a Ph.D. in the physical sciences.
