Many parts of computer science will be needed.  My very quick off-the-cuff
overview: Computer vision and control architectures are obvious areas that
will still need work.  Much of artificial intelligence will be needed (speech
understanding, reasoning, etc.).  Both design and implementation improvements
in databases/data organization are needed (to reduce on-board memory needs).
