Coming April I will present a talk about Rodney Brooks' ideas of "Nouvelle AI"
and the subsumption architecture to a group of interested highschool students.
It will be a 40 minute, not-very-technical talk to kids in the age 16 thru 18.
The talk is part of a day at Utrecht University open to highschool kids, and
the basic idea is to encourage their scientific enthousiasm.

I have my information from two Brooks-articles:

1. Intelligence without representation, R.A. Brooks
   Artificial Intelligence 47 (1991)
2. Elephants Don't Play Chess, R.A. Brooks
Robotics and Autonomous Systems 6 (1990)

What I'm now looking for is some examples of autonomous systems built according
to the methodolgy of incrementally creating intelligent behaviour.
The comp.robotics FAQ-file doesn't mention any such examples, so perhaps
anyone out there can help me.

Obviously, I am aware of the MIT-built creatures described in the
above-mentioned articles, but I'm looking for some more recent examples.

Replies are best sent to me directly, but posting them in this group is OK
too... When response is large, I'll post a compilation.

Thanks!

   Maarten...
