Special attention will be given to new developments in Mechatronics, a multi-disciplinary technology aiming at combining mechanics, electronics and computer science. Invited experts coming from industry, research and university will give presentations on latest developments, new application areas and advanced control algorithms for mechatronic systems. Besides this, as already done during the previous conference "Mechatronics and Robotics" in 1991 in Aachen, some time will be available for all participants to discuss in smaller groups about common R&D strategies and follow-up projects within the new EC - Framework Programme.
