       POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP/PART-TIME LECTURESHIP IN COMPUTER SCIENCE



Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellowship/part-time lectureship
in Computer Science at the University of Waikato.  Applicants should hold a
recent PhD in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.  They should have a
research background in some area of machine learning.

The position is half-time PDF and half-time lectureship.  The successful
applicant will be required to teach a half teaching load in the Computer
Science department.  He or she will also be expected to conduct research in the
area of machine learning and to participate in ongoing projects in this
area. Projects include the application of machine learning to various problems
in agriculture, the development of new machine learning algorithms, programming
by demonstration, and theoretical foundations of learning based on the MDL
principle.

The current salary range is $37,440 - $49,088 per annum.  The position is for a
one year period.
