David,
    I emphatically recommend the Cat Clinic on Liberty Ave. in Bloomfield
(near Baum Bvd and the Post Office..next door to "The Maids" cleaning
service).  They have two vets, Dr. Bissel and Dr. Bebco, both of whom
my girlfriend and I have been highly pleased with.  Since they only
work with cats, I imagine that they'd have better diagnositic experience
for your cat than a general vet.
