I have taken my parakeet (Bijou) to Dr Swart who has an offices on Freeport
Road in Fox Chapel and another office on Shady Avenue in Shadyside. He had
a very serious urinary tract infection from which he recovered completely.
A friend of mine has taken her dog (Toby) to him for years and has lots of
confidence in him, particularly after a bee sting allergy almost meant the end
of old Toby but Dr Swart (or perhaps his associate, Dr Murphy) took care of
him. Another friend of mine takes her two cats (Byron and Surrey) to Dr
Swart also. Byron has had ongoing intestinal difficulty over the past few
years--to the point when he had surgery last December.

I have also heard that the Cat Clinic on Liberty Ave is okay, too, though I'm
not as familiar with them. They are cat specialists.

			Good Luck--
				Jane Walter
