Something for the cars/drivers-licenses subdir:

Rujith's description of the Washington test site is basically complete,
but there are a few little wrinkles that can trip you up.  First, they
don't *always* take you through the course in the way he described, so
don't plan on memorizing the route in advance (although knowing the
basic layout from his map is helpful).  Second, the serpentine stuff is
supposed to be driven through at 8-10 mph; in other words, they want to
test how sharply and accurately you can steer the car, rather than just
"can you go really really slow and make nice gentle turns".  Third,
because the course is so compact, there's often not enough time for the
instructor to say "at the next junction, we're going to stop and turn
left" before you've already arrived at the junction in (say) the
right-hand lane.  They don't seem real concerned about this one, but if
you can see a stop sign approaching and the instructor hasn't yet told
you what to do, you might want to slow down a bit to keep your options
open.  Fourth (and most important!) there's a fake railroad crossing at
the bottom of the course; watch out for this one...
