Subject: Car Tire place recommendation

I want to put in a good word for Baum Blvd Tire (which isn't on Baum,
but that's another story). Another member of the department recommended
them to me after he'd had a good experience there. I needed four new
tires to pass inspection, and they were happy to work while I waited
(but call first to make sure they've got what you want in stock -- they
didn't when I dropped by yesterday), and the whole thing took all of
twenty minutes, after which they apologized for the delay. [Maybe they
gave me such good treatment because they thought I was related to "the
fish people," but I think they're by nature a friendly lot.] Price per
tire was $20 less than what Hess's Exxon (where I had the inspection
done) wanted, so I saved $80. The place looks like a good, honest,
dirty, obscure garage, and most of the guys I saw working there are on
the far side of forty and pretty mellow.

The phone number is 683-1999 and they're located "behind the check
cashing place on Center" -- near Center and Neville.
