I also have a diesel VW Rabbit (1978). Here are all of the
diesel fuel stations that I can remember:

The closest is a Gulf station on Centre Avenue,
just west of Morewood. Their prices are incredibly
high, so I only use them when I forget to get fuel
	elsewhere.

If you're downtown, there's a Gulf station on
Fort Duquesne Boulevard at 9th Street. Their
	price is only moderately high.

If you're out near the Century III Mall, there are
several good stations. My favorite is the Gulf
station on Lebanon Road (the road that passes under the
runway at the county airport, between the PAT bus garage
and the corner with the McDonald's). Their price is
consistently the lowest in town, with the possible
exception of the truck stop on the same stretch of
road, which occasionally undercuts them by $0.01/gallon
	to be competitive :-).

If you take Route 51 back from Century III, there's
a Gulf station at Brownsville Road, and another
generic-brand station about half way between that
Gulf station and the Liberty Tunnel.

I remember some station near the Miracle Mile shopping
center in Monroeville having diesel fuel, but it's been
years since I've needed to fuel up out there.

I also recall a station on Penn Avenue in/near
Wilkinsburg having diesel fuel, but again it's been years.

Good luck.
