Here are five recommendations for three different places:

Auto glass: I've had good luck with Three Rivers Glass, who
will come out to wherever your car is and replace a window. Their
prices seemed reasonable to me.

I went to Auto Glass Replacement Co. on Morewood (near Centre) to get a
new outside rear-view mirror. They did it while I waited and charged
$10; I don't know how this compares with other places.

I have had good service from Three Rivers Glass. They have done
3 windshields on my VW Rabbit (they seem very vulnerable to stone
chips). They will send a repair truck to where your car is (ie. here)
but will have trouble doing a window in cold weather outside a heated
garage.

I can't compare them for price, but they are concientious. They
guarentee their work, and, when I had a leaky windshield, came back
4 or 5 times to fix it at no charge. Eventually we fixed the mess by
replacing the gasket around the windshield (it was never clear what
the exact cause of the leak was). I bought the gasket, they gave
me a new (tinted) windshield.

Incedently, PA is one of the few states that won't pass a windshield
with any cracks. Replacement is covered under comprehensive car insurance
(or was, I haven't had one done since the death on no-fault). You might
check if you are covered by insurance in part or in whole.

Sara:
There is a little place on Morewood, between Centre and Baum, called
Auto Glass, which replaced a vent wing glass on my oldsmobile quickly and
well. Their phone number is 621-8466 address is 282 Morewood. By the way,
they only take money, no plastic.

Sara,
There is a place in Regent Square called Mylo Auto Glass. I went
there once to replace a side view mirror. They cut the glass
themselves since it was a nonstandard size and installed it for $8.
They did it while I waited (about 30-45 minutes). To get there take
Forbes east through Frick Park. Turn right at Braddock (the first
traffic light past the park). Turn left at the first street, Guthrie.
They are in a small green (?) garage immediately on your left.
