I own and drive a 1981 Ford Escort. It's a very sound car, never
costing me much for repairs. Its carburator clogged once while it
under warrenty, but that was fixed without cost to me and has not
happened again. Other than that, I have had to replace a cracked
windshield and a rusted muffler.

The car is not a real mover. If I had it to do over, I'd probably get
a five speed transmission. I've driven one with an automatic
transmission once. Forget it, get a stick.

I think it's called a "world" car because a version is manufactured and
sold outside the U.S. Originally, it was exclusively a European car.
Right now, according to the ads, it is the most popular car in the
world.
