11-Apr-88 16:21 Mark.Nagurka@ME.RI.CMU.EDU stay away from P&W
My wife and I were treated quite poorly - actually
insulted - at P & W Motors in Shadyside, and we are
not even customers! I do not understand how they
can sell cars, and be abusive.
My best advice: stay away....
Mark

11-Apr-88 21:34 Jon.Gotow@K.GP.CS.CMU.EDU P&W Motors bad experience
I have to second Mark Nagurka's opinion on P&W motors - stay away! We
bought a Saab there two years ago, and had a number of problems with their
service department. Our car seemed always to be coming up with small
problems during the first 10 months we owned it, and we were really starting
to wonder if we'd bought a real lemon. My wife and I finally sat down and
enumerated all the problems we'd had in a letter to Saab, and realized
exactly how and when all these problems were occurring. It seems that every
time we took the car in for routine servicing, we'd discover a problem with
some non-essential system (air cond., cruise control, etc., etc.) withing a
few weeks after getting the car back. I don't know whether P&W's mechanics
are just clumsy, and knock things loose in the engine bay during service, or
whether they were intentionally making warranty service work for themselves.
At any rate, when we finally switched our service over to Lombard motors in
Monroeville, surprise! - all our car's quirks went away. We've been
extremely happy with Lombard - they're fast, extremely courteous, and seem
slightly cheaper for service that P&W, as well. I'd suggest looking there
if you're interested in a Saab, and anywhere _except_ P&W for a BMW or Volvo
(and whatever they happen to sell). Don't go to P&W unless you, for some
twisted reason, enjoy standing around and watching them "fix" your car every
few weeks.

P.S. - Sorry this is one big pgph - <esc>-x:justify seems to want to make it
that way, and I haven't got time...
