Hi,

My question was if there's any car insurance company that would insure
a person who has not a US driver's license, but has a license issued
by another country.

Here are the answers I got:

Hi,

AAA Insurance Agency (5900 Baum Blvd. 365-7389) will write insurance for
you with your foreign drivers licence provided that you are 25 or above.

For the first 6 months;
Full coverage : $529
Limited coverage : $394

However if you already have a Social Security Number, go to a PennDot
Drivers Licence Center and receive a temporary learners permit after
entering a computerized exam. This will take 30 minutes. For insurance
companies this permit has the same value with that of a PA drivers
licence.

Good luck!

I dunno if my agent does, but you can contact him and ask.

His name is Tim Nixon, and he works for Keppel and Son.
The number there is 264-8072. Tell him I referred you.

Progressive is one company that does that. Your best bet would be to go to
AAA and get them to get their best available deal. They are very good at that.
You will probably have to take on a membership (that's about $35 or so) to
avail of their insurance sales, but the membership is worth every cent you
pay.

Good luck!

Vidhya.

Raluca,

You might first want to try contacting the AAA (Automobile Association
of America). They are in the phone book, either under AAA or the full
name. I don't know if they would insure you (they do offer insurance),
but they should be able to answer your questions, let you know what
needs to be done, etc. THe main office is in East Liberty, not too far
from here.

Or you can try contacting Harrisburg (long distance) - probably look
under the DMV - they have a Web page (http://idt.net/~tagman71/) - don't
know if they have insurance info, or just car registration.

Good Luck,

Rita

Try giving B&W Insurance a call. Ask for Dawn Struhar.
They are an insurance broker, but they'll give you quotes over the
phone, and usually they are pretty comparable.

the number is (412)369-8750.

Raluca,

Not a clue, but call my agent, John Lee: If he can help, I'm sure
he will. 673-1330. Tell him I referred you.

Good luck!
