Subject: Muffler repair - recommendation

If you need a muffler repaired, go to Meineke (this might be misspelled
but it is pronounced MINE-A-KEY). Midas didn't carry parts for our
83 Datsun Sentra. The dealer was going to charge $50 for labor and
$80 for the part (which apparently is one large unit). Meineke only
charged $76.00 including all parts and labor. They replaced the entire
unit with 3 major parts so that if the tailpipe breaks off again
it will only cost $7.95+labor. Try them sometime. The truly amazing
thing is that they were extremely courteous and thorough. They
explained the procedure step-by-step and the muffler was installed
in 20 minutes (!!). To anyone who has ever been to a Sears to have the
car fixed, this is amazingly quick.

They are in the book.
