To: bovik@ROBIN.WARP.CS.CMU.EDU Subject: Toyota Parts Date: Mon, 31 Aug 92 17:40:18 -0400 From: David_Eckhardt@ROBIN.WARP.CS.CMU.EDU I recently had the occasion to call around asking for a gas tank for my '84 Toyota Tercel wagon (4wd--the filler hose is on the opposite side, don't ask me, I just drive it). Rohrich $254.91 4 days Airport $231.45 ~week Century III $231.74 overnight (order goes in at noon) Krebs $231.74 *in*stock* McWilliams $231.74 ~week Analysis: Well, once again, Krebs seems to be the most all-around reasonable (I've had them not charge me for simple diagnoses, etc), and on the ball. The Airport price is puzzling (perhaps the guy figured tax wrong?). Also not a surprise, Rorhrich wins the overall booby prize--you pay them a 10% premium for below-standard service. Dave
