Here are the messages I got in reply to my question about where to take
a car to get the head gasket replaced. I decided to take it to Lee
Himmel Servicenter, at which I had a previously-made appointment, and
which does do this kind of work.

Since it's an American car, I can recommend a genuinely fantastic
mechanic who works out of his garage and doesn't charge very much.
His name is Ned Aland, and his phone number is 521-0857. He's
in Greenfield, and is very friendly and helpful.

I am not sure about this, but I think McKean Olds-Honda will do
it. They are on Liberty Avenue near Baum (right near the Pleasure Bar)
They seem to do good work but are a bit expensive. Also, I have
received a few bad stories about them (but most people seem to be
satisfied)

Jon-
I recently posted a notice which pointed to [x]/usr/fcw/mechanic.txt
which contains a recommendation of a mechanic who does such work. He
apparently prefers to work on American cars because of parts
availability but if you have a foreign car it might be worth calling
him. His number is 361-4073 and his name is Bill Dobransky.

Jon,
If your car is American made, check out Mologne's Auto Body on
Braddock. Dick Mologne used to everything for my old 65 dodge,
and he was great. One time I took it in for a tune-up: it cost $8.00.
He found that a spark plug wire was bad and replaced it, making it
run great with out touching the plugs or timing.
Unfortunately he won't touch my Honda, on a point of principal.
           Jim

Two places you might try: Automotive Radiator and Repair, and Bastone's.
Both are in Shadyside.

Go to Bill Dobranski of Dynamics Service Center, 361-4073, 5444 Penn Ave.
Your problem is his relish. I went to him this week, following
someone's advice on the bb, and I am fully satisfied. I plan to be
his regular customer, so mention me if you go there. -- Daniel

Jon,
I just took my car to Bill Dobransky (361-4073). He seems
bright and knowledgeable, but I'll know more when I get my car back. -roger
