Rorich gave me an identical story about brakes and mufflers a year ago and I swallowed it. Even then, they weren't satisified and told me that they needed to replace the spark plugs to pass the emission inspection, and did so without consulting me. They evidently forgot that I had had them tune the car and replace the spark plugs a month or two earlier, or just thought I was too stupid to notice. When I pointed out that they had replaced the spark plugs, they took the spark plug charge off the bill, but the whole experience left me suspecting that I had been taken. This seems to confirm it. John ------------------------ 20-Dec-85 09:17 Stacy Zeder disreputable dealer From: Stacy Zeder@henry ECE CMU EDU To all Toyota owners: A few days ago I brought my car to Rohrich Toyota to be serviced. Well, according to them I need new brake pads, I need my rotors machined and/or replaced (all this for about $198), and my my muffler is leaking and should be replaced ($120). After telling them to hold off on all this work I brought the car to Midas for a free estimate. Guess what? Absolutely nothing is wrong with my brakes!! And, my muffler is not leaking but is not in great shape and should be replaced. So, I guess the moral of the story is: if you don't need work done on your car bring it to Rohrich... they'll FIND something to do.
