Mixed recommendation for Bonura and Sattler Auto Body

Short form: recommended for doing good work, but was rude and ended up
refusing business.

A while ago, I had a bit of a problem with Bonnura and Sattler body shop.
They came recommended to me by my mechanic, they gave me a quote, and
everything was fine in dealing with the owner, Bob Sattler. I checked some
other places, and although their rates were comparable, they quoted me $350 to
get the dash that needed replacing, whereas others quoted me only $200. He
had some trouble finding the dash in the same color, and I told him I'd check
for one in DC while I was out of town. We agreed that if I found one, that
he'd do the work and not charge me for the part.

I did find the part, and called him up long distance to tell him. I did
request that he do ONLY the dash replacement, since I would do the rest of the
stuff myself. I had suggested that that would probably be the case when I
talked to him before, but at this point he grew angry, rude, and abruptly hung
up on me, telling me I could take my business elsewhere. I certainly respect
his choice not to take business if his profit margin is too low, but I was
very courteous with the man, and did not feel that such a reaction was provoked.

It's your option - the guy is supposedly good, but I certainly don't want to
deal with him again. I sent him a kind letter about this, so advise you in
advance, he may respond with an apology. We'll see.
