Ted McWilliams Toyota is terrible. I take my car to Rohrich Toyota.
They are not cheap, but I think they are honest and they do good work.

Rohrich in the South Hills [West Liberty Avenue] if it is still under
warranty. Or Rick Hall Auto Service in Turtle Creek--my mechanic for
years-if it is out of warranty.

Go to Brunos! Bruno's does *all* work on my Toyota for fractions of
what the dealers charge and they do a fantastic job!!!!

For oil changes, I go to the Exxon across the street from CMU. They
do a good job. I had a problem once where they had used one type of
oil filter and it leaked. They steam cleaned part of the engine to
figure out what the problem was and changed to a different filter.
Now they use that filter everytime and I've not had a problem.

Bruno's is busy so it sometimes takes awhile to get an appointment.
You'll need to plan ahead for routine maintenance.

Rodrich seems to be OK. My roommate (who owns a Camery)
goes there a couple times. (However, they can be somewhat expensive)

I recently have mine (also a Camery) serviced by Mike at Bruno's Garage.
Afterward, I called FireStone and Rodrich to get a price quote over the
same job, Rodrich charges 66% higher and FireStone charges 33% lower in
comparison to what I've pay for.
However, Mike is very nice and friendly and in general, I prefer a small
garage where it is possible to know the mechanic who is going to work on
your car.

I've always had good luck with Krebs Toyota, up on route 8 in the north
hills. It's a little farther but worth it.

Good luck,

Definitely do NOT ever go back to Ted McWilliams. There have been a LOT
of bad stories about them.

We often go to Airport Toyota, and had good experience with them. They
are quite far - about a 5 minute drive from the (old) airport. We
usually arrange an appointment when we plan to be out of town. This way
we also save the airport parking charge. They will hold your car for you
as long as you are out of town, and will even arrange for free rides for
you to/from the airport.

The irony is that they are owned by Ted McWilliam's. But the attitude
is very different.

I used to bring my toyota to the dealer up north, Krebs. They did a good job.
However, they are too picky with inspections. The last time I went there they
said I needed $800 of work. They wanted to replace the brakes because they
were too rusty, although the pads were OK. I then went to Hess near CMU.
They said the brakes were OK but they would not pass the car unless the shocks
were replaced. Then I brought the car to Gulf at Forbes and Murray. They
passed it with no work. It has been fine for two years now.

I have had work done there on my toyota and my other car, a voyager. They do
a good job. It's convenient because the bus stops right there and lets you
off at CMU. If you want, you can tell them to use Toyota tune-up parts. I do
tune-ups myself and I have had trouble with non-toyota ignition wires and
spark plugs.

At one time, the toyota had a problem in which it would make noise when
turning. The toyota dealer wasn't sure what it was and suggested repacking
the wheel bearings. The Gulf station thought it was a nut and bolt that was
loose and rusted. They replaced the nut and bolt, and solved the problem.

I think that Krebs is fairly friendly, though they're not
stunningly cheap. If it's a fairly simple piece of work,
you might try taking it somewhere other than a dealer--
for example, Bruno's (check the Bovik database).
