Harry,
Some recent pointers for renting VCR tapes... --Hans

-----
For older films there is the store on Craig across from Phantom of the
Attic. The Giant Eagle in the Monroeville Mall complex has a pretty
large selection, but mostly popular titles and it isn't very convenient
to you.

------
Try Pharmor (in East Liberty across Penn Ave. from the Giant Eagle and
other locations). They've got the largest selection I've seen in the
area and they're dirt cheap (69 cents for a 2-day rental and even
cheaper if you rent three). The only problem is that their shelves
are disorganized, so you have to hunt if you want something specific.

-----
You might try the Phar-mor in that new shopping center on Penn by the
Nabisco Plant. They seem to have a large selection, and the prices are
cheap. 3 tapes for 2 nights for $1.50, or 1 tape for $.69. They have
computer listings (hardcopy) of there titles.

Classic video on Craig St. across the street south of PNB has many older
films and foreign films, but the total number of tapes in that store is
small.

-----
Pharmor Entertainment has a lot of selections, maybe a little bit more than
Heads Together/West Coast Video. But the best thing about it is that it is
very cheap, about $2 can get you 3 movies for 2 nights, and membership is
free. The *BAD* thing about pharmor is that it is very disorgainized.

Pharmor Entertainment is on Penn near Giant Eagles. Go down Fifth away from
downtown, take a left on Penn, and it should be to your right after couple
lights.

-------
Good luck -- I generally try to broaden my selection by patronizing lots
of stores. On pgh.general, DDJ recently had this to say about
Classic Video, which you might want to try:

> ... an ultra-cool movie rental place in Oakland, right on S.Craig,
> just before Fifth. It's a little tiny place in a basement, that
> specializes in old and foreign films, it seems. I just got a lifetime
> membership, including 10 free two-day rentals, for $35. Check it out!
