Jeanette,
We have our piano tuned by a Mr. Connelly who also tunes the
pianos for the Pittsburgh Symphony. He is not expensive, and
though I don't understand much about this, seems to do an
excellent job. His number is 935-9420

Jeannette,

My cousin, Joe Gumbosky, is a very good tuner. He has a
thorough knowledge of piano construction; he's rebuilt several himself.
Family ties don't mean a whole lot to me, so this isn't a "help your
cousin" type of recommendation.

His phone number is 224-1327 (I think -- he's in the Pittsburgh
directory).

Bill Connelly tunes for the university and for the symphony too, I think.
His # is 321-9887.

I highly recommend Joe Brian (in the phone book, lives ~ Wilkinsburg.
He was recommended to me by Eddie Kaplan & Bill Chiles. All three of us
were very satisfied. He is competent, honest, and very pleasant.

The University has a piano tuner -- I've used him a couple of times to
have the grand in the ballroom tuned and he did a very good job. I
don't remember his name -- but Anne Witchner in Student Activities
should know.

I've been using Brian Bailey, who lives on Walnut Street in Shadyside.
He came warmly recommended by several Pittsburgh Symphony players and he's
done a good job with my piano.

Jeannette,

Bill Connelley (935-9420) did a fine job on my piano, and
had good recommendations from other folks.

(B.T.W., what kind of piano do you have?)

- Mark
