This was due to the problems that I encountered with local labs ( scratched slides, off-color processing, dusty mounts). I buy my film from the New York discount, mail-order places that advertise in Modern Photography. When you buy the film with Kodak processing, each roll comes with a mailing envelope that you use to send the film to the lab. If you buy film locally, you can also buy mailers to get the processing. Buying from NY provides a savings: total cost of ~6.50 vs. ~8.00 for film and mailer locally. Camera store will also send work to Kodak for you, but at high cost. The time delay is about 8 days to Findlay. I have never lost a roll of film and have sent about 150 rolls to them. If you send a number of rolls in the same box, they will be processed and returned together. Hank Mashburn
