Several people asked me about the reply I got on apple orchards. The
following is from the mail I recieved.

There is a great place for purchasing pumpkins that we found last year.
Schramm's is on Harrison City Road between Murrysville and Harrison City.
They place all of their pumpkins in a field, and you go into the field
and select the one(s) you want. They have a corn stalk maze for kids,
and good Apples, Cider, and Veggies.

To get there, take Rte 22 east past Murrysville. Turn off at the sign
for Manor Valley Golf Course onto Harrison City Road. Follow this main
road for several miles until you see Schramm's on the left.

Enjoy!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that.

I was telling you about Trax Farm. It's in the South Hills, off Rt. 88 near
Library (a little past South Park). That area used to be all farmland a
few decades ago and Trax is sort of a leftover from that era. I haven't
been there myself for a number of years, but I understand it is still nice.

They have a pick-it-yourself pumpkin patch, and they sell apple cider (GOOD
apple cider) and I'm not really sure what all. They are listed in the phone
book so your friend can call and find out. I don't know if they let people
pick apples -- I know that you can pick strawberries there.
