I have had a large number of requests for more info on the editing
facilities here at CMU so here is all I know:

There is an editing setup for VHS tapes over in room 319 in CFA.  There is a
person on station there most days and you sign up for 3 hour slots to use
the equipment. The equipment has the capability for dubbing sounds and
some special video effects.  They give a short training session on using the
equipment then you are all set.  There are workshops on Wednesdays for
training.  I don't know the phone number I just walked in and got all the
info there.
