For new books: Border's.  Bad location (Rt 19, So. Hills), but
has more stock than any other new bookstore.  Branch of the famous
Ann Arbor store.

For Used: City Books, South Side.  Smallish as such stores go
(large for Pittsburgh, though) but has nice owners (Duquesne
profs) and a reasonable selection of hardbacks.  Prices are
comparable with Strand in NY or Powell's in Chicago.
