Dear Dr. Bovik,

I thought I would tell about my experience at Mad Mex, the new Mexican
restaurant in Oakland. I don't recommend it. The salsa was very good,
but it went downhill from there. The nachos were OK, but the Attic's are
better and a much larger portion. We all had spicy food at Mad Mex which
was very inconsistent -- the first half was bland, the last half very hot.
Also, whatever they use to make the food picante tastes awful. This is
run by some young Pennsylvanians who, by their own admission on their menu,
don't know what Mexican food is. I've lived in New Mexico and Texas for 10
years and have had good Mexican food. I've been to other places around here
which I would recommend over Mad Mex including: Tequila Junction, Franklin
Inn, and Fajita Grill; the latter two being the best. I really wanted to
like Mad Mex because I live nearby and these other restaurants are farther
away, but it was not to be so.
