Subject: Allegheny County Rib Cook-Off

I tried it this year during the Labor Day weekend. It's at the South Park
Fairgrounds.

As the name implies, the main attraction is a bunch of vendors of BBQ ribs
from Pennsylvania and Ohio. "Tastes" of 1 or 2 ribs cost $1, half-racks
are $5 to $7. Some vendors also have BBQ chicken or other meat.

There are also a row of other food vendors (french fries, onion rings, etc.),
a stage (county and blues bands), a small carnival, petting zoo, crafts
vendors, and antiques vendors. I guess to pay for the bands, there is an
admission fee of $2.

Even though it runs for several days, it's crowded and parking goes for
half a mile.
