My bike shop of choice is The Bike Rack on Murray Avenue in Squirrel
Hill.  They carry Ross, Puch, Motobecane, and Austro-Daimler (that's all
that I can remember for brands).  I have had several bikes from these
folks and can recommend them as superb technical people as well as being
friendly folk.

I myself ride a Motobecane Grand Jubile, which went for $350 a couple
of years ago.  I like Motobecane for touring bikes...they have models
available in price ranges suitable for most people.  The Ross and Puch
bikes seem good also.  Austro-Daimler seem a little high-priced.

Go there.  Tell them how much you want to spend.  They'll tell you exactly
what your options are.
