Subject: vcr repair place to avoid

Harry,

About 4 months ago I had a problem with my vcr. I called
Michael's VCR Repair (361 4910) and for $10 they provided
me with a repair estimate. The total repair (they claimed
it needed new pincher roller and belt) cost $70, $50 of which
was labor. When they delivered my vcr, they told me I had
a 30 warranty on the work and future service calls would
be billed at only $20/hr labor. Well, about 2 months after
the repair the same problem cropped up and has slowly gotten
worse. When I called them, they told me the repair would
be $10 for the estimate and again $50/hr labor. THey claimed
they never told me about the $20 reduced labor for future
work.

I realize now I should have gotten this in writing, but it's too
late. Maybe this is standard vcr repair policy in pittsburgh. but
my advice to people looking for a repair place:

ask what your warranty is before you get the repair, and
get all prices/quotes in writing.
