You may have heard of some of these from others, but here is a small list:

Confetti's: Friday Nights is the Businessman's (and Business-woman's)
night. There is a happy hour from 5pm to 7pm with free food (but a $5.00
admission charge); once the food is gone, dancing starts (i.e. about 8pm).
Average age on Friday nights is 26 to 40. Walk in at 6pm and the place is
already full.
On Saturday Nights, it is a much younger crowd, and dancing doesn't start
until about 10:30pm. Average age is 21-26. For an idea on the type of
music they play, listen to WYDD on Saturday nights from 11pm till 2am. They
are broadcasting live from Confettis.
On other nights, they have various 'themes'; call them to find out.

Metropol: Friday and Saturday Nights they are always packed: average age
21-25. Mostly progressive-type music (WXXP type of music). On other
nights they have various themes, and often live bands.

Graffiti's: Usually live bands.

Funny Bone: They are all over the place: no dancing, but usually good
comedy.

Chancy's: Like Confetti's on a Friday Night: Dancing from very early
in the evening, and average age 26-40. I don't know how Saturday night is.

Flirt's: A very nice place, not very crowded (i.e. very quiet, even on
weekends). Type of music changes depending on the night. Average age
24-40, except on Thursday nights, where average age is 21-25 (it's new
music night there, and probably their most crowded night).

Then there are lot's of places with no dancing ... but that's a whole
different story ...

Those are the places I know of ... (and i've only been here 6 months).
Please send me a compiled list of comments from everyone else too; I
would appreciate it.

~dave

I haven't been there yet, but there's a place called Studebaker's out
next to the movie complex West (in NJ it's called a Multiplex, I can't
remember what it's called here. Ever.). They play 50's, 60's, 70's
music, a lot of motown. Great stuff. They're owned by the same people
as a place called Wurlitzer's in NJ, which I am intimately familiar with.
>From what I hear, the set up is exactly the same-- waitresses and bartenders
dancing on the bar, waitresses wearing cheerleader costumes, and a lot
of fun. I've been trying to go for a while, but I can't seem to get
my act together.

I hope this is a new one for you.

Dave --

When my brother (the white Michael Jackson) comes into town every
December with his friend Darrin, he demands that we take him out. This
year my wife Ann decided that the early stages of pregnancy would make
her wimp out too early, so she sent the three of us off alone. We
ended up at Metropol in the strip district, where we stayed until about
3:00 in the morning. We ran into a bachelorette party, and my brother
had a very short, very intense relationship with the maid of honor.
Fortunately, the party included some married ladies I could hang out
with in a guilt-free manner. I thought that Metropol does a very good
job of being a big, upscale dance club. My brother and his friend,
more connesiours than I, agreed. For what it's worth.

Dave
