The little place across from the Greenfield Giant Eagle on Murray
is excellent. I used a coupon from the green pages (or was it Donnelley?)
on top of a student discount. It came to $85 or so for good wire frames
and lenses. Recommended. Good service, too.
[ Aha! It's 20-20 Optical, 4203 Murray ]

Squirrel Hill Eyetique is not recommended (poorly ground lenses on
one pair).

Eye & Ear downtown is "the McDonald's of Eyewear" (in the words of a
departing employee). I got contacts there, and they're cheap & OK
if you know what you want. Wire frames are expensive there, though.
Their contact lens people aren't very competent, so be sure that *you*
are the one running the show. First time contact lens wearers might
want to pick somewhere else.
