Peter and I both *really* like our doctor, Doug McKeag. He's
affiliated with the Sports Medicine program at UPMC, but is
also a practicing family physician. His emphasis on sports
medicine has made him very focused in "minimal intervention"
sorts of therapies, which we both appreciate.

We've not had a need to see him for internal medicine sorts of
things, but I expect that he's excellent there as well. He's
patient, very friendly, and acts like he has all the time in the
world for you. (one of our recent appointments took >30 minutes!)
He's also an excellent listener and questioner; he elicits more
information from his patients than most doctors I've met.

Caveats: Although he does sports medicine on Baum Blvd, you have
to go to his Sewickley office for normal family physician things.
It's quite a ways, but worth it for us so far. We do have a concern
about the distance, and about his availability; since he's also
on the faculty at UPMC, I think he sees patients in Sewickley only
a few days a week. However, we've also had a bit of experience
with others in his practice, and they've been very good as well.
In an emergency, I think things would work out fine.

His # at the Sewickley office: 741-4044
