My dentist warned me a few years ago that my gums were receding (which in
fact they were, and pretty badly).  He told me to be more coniensious about
my brushing and flossing, and prescribed an inexpensive mouthwash called
Peridex to help prevent infection in the gums.

Last fall he did an exam on my gums and according to his measurements they
actually got better (the amount of gum recession measured was less than
before).
