We also interviewed Dr Bass last week, as I would advise anyone seeking a pediatrician (or other "long- term" specialist, for that matter). They are located in the Lillian Kaufmann building in Oakland. Many different people have praised their pediatric care, and the last I heard they were part of Keystone's plan. I do not use them because I am a member of Healthamerica, although I have, in the past, considered switching to Keystone just because of their reputation. The number is 621-2432. Good luck. Dr. Joop Offerman, Reynold's street, is a Keystone doctor. He treats whole families, and see a lot of children. We have been going to Dr. Offerman ever since my son was three days old, and have liked him very much. The office is located at 4120 Brownsville Road. Phone #882-7747. I can relate this personal experience to you that occurred over 4 years ago. My husband was out of work, it was right before Christmas, and my young son became ill. I did not have the extra money for a doctor visit and my regular pediatrician would only accept cash up front. My brother called Dr. Diamond and explained the situation and asked if he would see my son and if I could pay for the visit on time. Dr. Diamond not only saw my son, but wished my family a happy holiday, did not charge me for the visit and gave me the medication that my son needed. This convinced me that not only is he a great doctor but a very caring person. I am now at Uptown Pediatric Assn. next to Mercy Hospital. I've been there twice, Dr. Daly was with my old Dr's before. They never seem to have more than 1 or 2 people in the waiting room, but like I said I have only been there twice. I assumed that they operate out of Mercy hosp. (or did they tell me that?).
