Dear Dr. B.

I want to add a note to your listings on eyeglasses. I didn't like 20/20
when I went there a few years ago and didn't really see similar recs
for other places. After looking around, I ended up at LensCrafters (I went
to the one in the Monroeville Mall). The eye exam was perfectly thorough.
The frame selection was excellent and I didn't feel any pressure to buy
fancier or more expensive frames than I wanted. The people were very nice
and courteous. They made my glasses in an hour and when I said I wanted them
darker (I was getting prescription sunglasses) they darkened them to the shade
I wanted with no problem. I'm very happy with the glasses and they were not
much more than at 20/20 (or anywhere else for that matter).

The frame selection at LensCrafters was particularly good. I wanted a specific
cut of frame (which 20/20 had said wasn't made anymore) and found plenty of
choices of the "aviator" cut that I like. They also divide their frames by
price, so it's easy to look only at frames in your price range.

They also say they have a 30-day money back guarantee and a 1-year
replacement policy. To replace the lenses or frames (after 30 days) you pay
$35 and to replace both you pay $45. I obviously haven't needed either one,
but it's good to know they're there.
