Hi Barbara,

I go to Tatar Podiatry on 5750 Centre Ave, Suite 480, 361-3668. I see
Morris Tatar but I don't think he's taking any new patients. He's at
retirement age and cut back his schedule since his daughter, Bonnie,
joined the practice a few years ago. Both are D.P.M.'s and also, I think,
affiliated with the Podiatry Hospital on Negley. I don't think they bill 
themselves specifically as sports podiatrists. Both however are tuned
into runners' problems and athletically oriented. He was a top swimmer
in his youth making it to one of the regional olympic trials. He always
works the medical tent at mile 15 for the Pgh marathon. He seems to be
good at understanding runners' problems and tries to keep you going instead
of telling you to take 6 weeks off to let something heal. He recommended
the right type of shoes for me to make marathon runs and training less
damaging to my feet. Bonnie is a runner and from the one conversation I
had with her, seems similarly attuned as her father.

Hello Barbara:

I have been very happy with John Distazio of Allegheny Podiatry.
He runs and bikes himself. What is the problem? I have done a 
fair amount of reading on running myself.

I've gone to (and liked) Dr. David Ivill, who runs the
Western PA Foot & Ankle Center in Edgewood.  I believe
the number is 731 9330
