You are wise to spend some time finding the right realtor before you
look for the right house. Three years ago we decided to do it right:
we asked for realtor recommendations, then went out with several of
them for an afternoon apiece to see how well we got along. We finally
settled on Rene Ellman, of Sachs Realty. She is competent, listens to
what we want, and does her homework. We never went all the way with
her because we eventually bought in Mt. Lebanon, which is outside her
area of expertise. (She was helpful in recommending realtors for Fox
Chapel and Mount Lebanon.) But we did see her operate in the
preliminary stages of one deal that never went through. I highly
recommend her.
