Subject: house inspector recommendation


Many people have recommended Glen Vernon in the past.  He now runs
Vernon Building Inspection, Inc., and I recently had a house inspected
by one of the people working with him, Ralph DiNinno.  He was
extremely thorough. He spent almost 4 hours examining a fairly small
house, in 10-degree weather that would have made almost anyone want to
hurry up and get out of the unheated basement.  He explained what he
was doing as he went along, showed me the problems and suggested how
to fix them, suggested improvements that I might want to make in the
near future, and when asked gave estimates of what the repairs and
improvements would cost.  His written report was even more thorough,
and arrived within a couple days.  I was very impressed by the whole
process, and my parents and real estate agent were too.

Other inspectors quoted me lower prices -- this was $225 for the
general inspection, and another $35 for a pest inspection -- but I
think the service was worth it.
