Tartan has been using Tony Bertoni to do some of the maintenance work in the
building. He also has been doing some work for John Nestor, Joe Newcomer and
Chuck Weinstock of SEI. His does quality work at extremely low prices.

Call 682-5461 or send mail to bertoni@tartan

We hired Warm Morning Insulation to insulate our attic, and were very
pleased with their work. The price was comparable to other bids.

Our storm windows are a bit unusual: they are extremely heavy plastic
wrapped around wooden frames, with foam along the edge of the frame
to achieve a tight seal. They're intended to be set on the inside
sill, but we have a couple that are mounted on the outside due to lack
of clearance, and they have survived 2 winters with no visible harm.
With respect to energy efficiency, we found that they are significantly
better than the (admittedly cheap) glass storm windows installed by
some previous owner. The windows are custom-made to fit your windowsills
(a necessity in an old house, like ours, where none of the windows are
a standard size). The big win, of course, is that they are a *lot*
cheaper than glass storm windows. The company is called Six Industries.

I believe both these companies are in the phone book, but if not I
can look up the numbers for you.
