Roy,
   I haven't seen the article or heard the term "whole house" before
but.. 7 years ago I lived in a house in Dallas that had no Air Conditioner,
only a STRONG attic fan. Even with the temp at 100 when we ran that thing a 
VERY strong breeze came into the house from every window and door. It kept
us reasonably cool all summer. I imagine that it would work even better
here in Pitts, where it never really gets hot.

Ps. The fan pulled air into the attic from a 4' by 6' grating in the
ceiling of a central hallway.
