If you got your mortgage through Mellon Bank chances are the closing will be
with Richard Anton. In that case, I would just go by myself. He conducts a
typical closing in about 10 minutes. When we first met him 6 years ago he was
in a little office in one of the bank buildings. How he has a whole suite. I
believe the forms are pretty standard so there's not much to worry about as
long as you get possession at the closing, the inspections are all ok, etc.
The bank lending you the money is going to be sure that the property is
worthwhile (minus your downpayment of course) so that is one problem you don't
need to worry about. We took a lawyer with us to one closing when we were the
buyers and one when we were the sellers. No news is good news I guess because
both closing went quickly and without a hitch. His name is Michael Marks and
he is with Rosenberg & Kirshner in the Grant Building. It does make you feel
better to have representation, but whether it's really worth it.... You don't
know until you have a problem.

Good luck,

Dave
