Subject: Appliance Repair

Harry,
Here is a strong reccomendation for an appliance repair place.
It is Able Appliance Service (734-2253). The problem with most
appliance repair places is that they will tell you that they'll send
a reapir person out to your place for $35 just to give you an estimate.
Sometimes, if you know whats going on with the appliance, you can
describe the problem to a knowledgeable person and have them
tell you how much it will cost. The real problem of course is that
sometimes one is better off replacing an appliance than fixing it..
so no point having the estimate person coming out and telling you that.

Today my dryer is on the blink. I described all of the stuff I had done
to Able and he gave me a price on the phone $125 for parts and labor.
This is particularily interesting since I had just found out from the
dealer that the part itself costs $107. Since it would cost me about the
same as the repair to replace the dryer, calling this place payed off.
